Perfectly hand-picked - the shop at RAMM

As the festive season approaches, the Toucan Academy has recently been commissioned to help The Shop at RAMM design their Christmas and 2019 advertising campaign. This was not only a great opportunity for me to enter into the festive spirit a little bit earlier than usual, but also to work with the RAMM team and their fabulous brand. 

'Perfectly hand-picked gifts' - the concept behind this year's campaign was to highlight the wonderfully eclectic range of gifts on sale, (so much thought and care has gone into the choosing of the items they stock), and to convey to the public the unique qualities of the shop itself, based as it is in within the museum itself. 

I was asked to visualise how the campaign would be applied across a whole range of materials - from gift vouchers and bookmarks to large scale exterior panels and smaller press adverts. Not only that, but I was given the opportunity to evolve RAMM’s current retail campaign and play around with a variety of design approaches, although consistency and attention to detail was key in ensuring sure the suite of materials worked as a cohesive campaign.

Like so many other ‘Academy’ projects I’ve had the opportunity to work on, this has taught be a great deal. In this case I was able to observe, first -hand, the way in which to conduct a client meeting and to see just how important it is to build a good working relationship with the client in order to provide the best possible design solution. 

I’m really looking forward to seeing my work in the public domain and would urge those of you who haven’t discovered the Shop at RAMM, to take a look, it’s a great place to buy that 'special person' in your life a unique Christmas gift.
