As you can probably tell from my photo, I am the most mature of all the team but that is because I have had my own practice in Cornwall and London for over 40 years. Timothy Guy Design was acquired by London’s leading architectural and graphics group, Aukett Architects, in 2006 because of our internationally recognised expertise in brand and exhibition design with particular skills in the built environment. Our client list contains many top FTSE 100 companies as well as leading Cornish concerns, leading ultimately to being awarded Cornwall Creative Business of the Year by ‘In pursuit of Excellence’.
Cornwall clients include Hall for Cornwall, The Duchy Health Charity, Friends & Relations, Cornwall Care, The Mermaid Trust, Mt. Edgecumbe Hospice, Watson Marlow Bredel, Truro High School for Girls and Millers Estate agency. Leisure businesses include the Eden Project, The Atlantic Hotel, Newquay and Cornwall Mineral Tramways. Clients from further afield include EMI Group, Bombardier in Berlin, Glaxo Smith Kline, the National Grid, Historic Royal Palaces, many of our cathedrals including St Paul's in the City of London, St David’s in Pembrokeshire, Winchester and Lincoln – home of Magna Carta. I was instrumental in finding US sponsorship to take this exemplar on a five year tour of the eastern seaboard following the 2004 quatro-centenniel celebrations of the Founding Fathers in Virginia Beach and Jamestown.
The last two years have seen me working with Josh in leading brand and campus design direction at Plymouth University. We share a passion and love of teaching and I am also an associate lecturer in graphic communications at the University. We believe in combining fresh design graduate talent from across the peninsula, principally Falmouth and Plymouth, with Toucan’s acknowledged creativity and industry experience and we will use this to significantly enhance our Cornwall offer. We work best with fast track local businesses that recognise great design as a means to moving on and upwards, and we have many successful companies to provide as referees.
Josh and I look forward to establishing Toucan as a new creative agency for the far south west, and with the help and support of the county's far-sighted and ambitious business community we will lead the way to maximise tomorrow’s undoubted creative stars – today.
