Event Branding & Promotional Material
The Turner Locker Barnfield Revival is the brainchild of Mark Turner of Turner Locker. His idea was to gather 50 or so classic cars and bikes from the 1900’s to the 1960’s, and in an unashamed imitation of The Goodwood Revival, ask drivers and guests to dress in period costume to match their vehicle. The inaugural event was a great success with dozens of vintage vehicles and suitably clad guests enjoying the late summer sunshine.
We were responsible for creating a distinctive identity for the event and started by developing a 'chrome badge' echoing those seen on many classic vehicles and based upon a heavily stylised version of heraldic device used in the Turner Locker logo. We wanted to evoke another era - harking back to a former time - a classic post-war Britain, with a touch of patriotic pride and an optimism for the future. A red, white and blue colour palatte, with classic flat illustrative graphics and Union Jack's seemed entirely appropriate and were very well received.
We are very lucky to work in Barnfield Crescent, a little oasis of peace and calm in Exeter’s city centre. We also have a large car park, lawns and trees with the back-drop of an elegant Georgian Crescent. Where better for a gathering of fine motorcars and classic bikes? We were delighted that Toucan came on board so enthusiastically and developed such eye-catching graphics that really helped to make the event a great success.
