growth point launch a new web-site from toucan containing all the latest news on the proposed developments in Exeter and East Devon. 2010 is poised to be an eventful year in Exeter and East Devon, with contractors expected to be on site at Cranbrook, Skypark and at the Flybe Training Academy. So to keep everyone informed the Growth Point Partners have launched this website, www.exeterandeastdevon.gov.ukWith the latest news on funding, consultations and the progress being made on the ground, the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point are proud to present the Growth Point website. Run by the local authority partnership of East Devon District Council, Devon County Council, Exeter City Council and managed by the Growth Point Delivery Team; this website tells you everything you need to know about the development plans for Exeter and East Devon over the next 15 to 20 years.
Cllr Ray Franklin, the new Chairman of the Growth Point Steering Board, explains 'bringing all this information into one place fills me with great pride. The growth prospects for Exeter an East Devon really leap from the screen and for the first time it is possible to clearly see the vision that the local authority partners have been striving towards. I have been involved in these developments since day one and it is fantastic that this website has captured the essence of what we are trying to achieve.'
As well as details of each development you will find information about the planning process, the latest news on the draft Regional Spatial Strategy, details on any consultations that are coming up, and information on how you can get involved in the planning process. Toucan's content management system allows the web-site to be edited in real-time so that information is easily kept up-to-date.
Cllr Peter Wadham, Exeter City Council's Lead Councillor for Sustainable Development and Transport, said: 'This can only be good news for everyone who will be touched by the proposed developments in Exeter and East Devon. Now people in Exeter will have all the information they need on the future development of the city and the surrounding area in one place, on one website.'
Designed as a public facing website, Toucan Graphic Design have built the pages to allow easy navigation, with four themes centred on what matters most to the stakeholders; Housing, Employment, Transport and Sustainable Development.
Devon County Council's cabinet member for Economic Regeneration and Strategic Planning, William Mumford said; 'Devon County Council will continue to keep a watchful eye on the economy and work closely with our partners as we work to ensure that Devon's business community benefits in full from the opportunities the recovery will bring.'
